Back in Sweden and cold Abisko after a wonderful holiday and catch up with friends in Australia. I had a great month in Australia and managed to meet a few old Antarctic people, cool fun to see them in their "real" environment. The highlight must have been the swim with the sharks with Benny (his xmas pressie to me). But many other things, like walking in the snowy mountains, biking on rottnest island and of course to just spend time with Benny.
In Abisko we have a thick layer of snow and I have been out skiing the last couple of nights. A big contrast to come back to this place compared to the warmth and activities in Australia. At work I am preparing my presentation for the ASLO conference in the US which takes place the 4th to the 9th of February in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Otherwise, things are slow and uneventful in Abisko when compared to my last month in Oz.
